Messenger for Mac 8 with Video Chat is now out of Beta

Microsoft has just released the Messenger for Mac 8.This version of messenger will be available as part of the Office for Mac 2011 suite, and is also available for download as a free standalone version here.

Messenger for Mac 8 provides real-time collaboration between Mac users and their Messenger friends, whether those friends are using Messenger on a PC, phone, through Hotmail, or on another Mac. You can use instant messaging, audio, and video calls to communicate with your Messenger contacts by signing in with your Windows Live ID.

Messenger Connect is out of beta and available worldwide

We have just got the mail that Messenger Connect is now out of beta and is available worldwide.Messenger Connect is a collection of APIs and common controls that enable you to enhance the social appeal of your websites and rich-client applications by "connecting" them to Windows Live. After they are connected, your applications can request user permission to communicate via Windows Live Messenger, publish activities to the "What’s new" news feed, access a user’s social network, and even store and share photos via Windows Live SkyDrive from within the application.

Here is what the mail reads-
